B.Com Computer Application

Baker College for Women offers a three year B. Com (Model I) Programme, with specialization in Computer Application affiliated to M. G. University. The revised B. Com. programme emphasises critical thinking, creativity, and involvement among its students. This is predicated on the idea that a traditional educational system, which prioritises prescription, information transfer, and grade competitiveness, may not prepare commerce students to meet the unique problems of the modern business world.

Course Overview

The entire curriculum is divided into six semesters, running from the first semester to the last semester according to a grading system. In order to minimise the harmful competition focused on grades, the pupils are grouped according to different grades. It focuses on giving education more purpose and integrity rather than shifting the emphasis away from learning for grades.

Every student must complete a project report in their last year based on their professional experience. In contrast to the depository form of education, which is passively acquired and stocked up, industrial visits and interactions with experts and experienced personnel in matters relating to industry are organised to make the learning process of the students more participatory and in close acquaintance with commerce in operation.

English for Careers

The secret to success in today's competitive job market is good communication. In our country, English is the primary official language. Therefore, it's crucial for anyone hoping to stand out in the professional world to become fluent in this language. English for Careers addresses this issue by emphasizing English language skills for students who are about to enter the workforce while keeping in mind the varied contexts in which they are likely to be needed. English for Career will be better prepared to create and make presentations, participate actively in group discussions, and employ interpersonal skills to succeed in a competitive setting.

Applicable Mathematics

The goal is to prepare students from all streams, especially those with backgrounds in the arts and commerce, for their higher studies and competitive exams. Students should be given a thorough explanation of concepts as well as a quick fix for issues so they can develop their problem-solving abilities.  All inquiries should be of a level appropriate for arts students.
