Baker College For Women

Baker College for Women, Kottayam was established in 2014 as part of the Bicentenary celebrations commemorating the arrival of CMS missionaries in Kerala. The college is a tribute to three generations of women educators of the Baker family. Amelia Dorothea Baker, wife of Rev. Henry Baker (Sr.), lit the lamp of Women's education in India when she educated six girls at her residence in 1820. Baker Institutions of the Diocese are visible testimonies of the concern and efforts of the Diocese towards empowerment of women through education.

Baker College for Women endeavours to live up to its motto "The Truth Will Make You Free", believing firmly that the emancipation of women from discriminations and social prejudices can be attained only through the medium of education. The college commits itself to encourage, equip and empower women through Higher Education.
